An Nvidia GT 1010 appears in China for $70

Five and a half years after the launch of the GeForce 1000 series, Nvidia quietly released a new GT 1010 to deliver video on PCs with a CPU without integrated graphics like most of the Ryzen line, or Intel’s “F” processors. At the moment they only appeared in the Chinese market, although it would not be surprising if they soon reach other markets as well.

The first unit to appear was a version for pre-built Lenovo PCs, which retailed for the equivalent of $70, which is insane for a card that does nothing but output video.

Then a Videocardz reader known as “MEGAsizeGPU” shared an image of a Leadtek modelwhich has an ultra-compact PCB and uses a physical PCI-E x8 interface even though the actual interface is PCI-E 3.0 x4.

This user also shared a screenshot of GPU-Z to show the specifications of this GPU, which confirms that it is based on the GP108 core, using the Pascal architecture, and has 256 Cuda Cores, 2GB of GDDR5 memory, and a 64-bit bus, being an even trimmed down version of the GT 1030, which has 384 Cuda Cores and the same memory and bus configuration.

This card really only serves to give video and little else, since with its specifications you can’t play practically anything. This release exposes how bad the market is, so Nvidia releases an even more trimmed down version of the GT 1030 almost 5 years after its release. Everything indicates that this will continue for a long time, so we may see more similar releases in the future.
