Asus chalk white Geforce GTX 970 Turbo for SLI out in store

Despite controversy surrounding an odd memory configuration, the Geforce GTX 970 remains an interesting model for enthusiasts. A month ago, Asus presented its latest version of the graphics card, which is a new entry-level variant intended to go up against models with Nvidia’s reference design.

Now the Asus Geforce GTX 970 Turbo OC has started to find its way into Swedish stores, where it is listed for SEK 3,900–4,200. As the name implies, the GM204 graphics processor is overclocked with its 1,644 computing units at 1,088 and 1,228 MHz at base respective boost. However, the memory frequency is left unchanged at 7,008 MHz for its 4 GB GDDR5 on a 256-bit bus width (224 + 32 bits).

Characteristic of the model is its bright white design with red accents, which covers a sparse aluminum heat sink without heat conduction pipes. Instead, its solitary radial fan is highlighted, which can collect air from both sides thanks to an extra short circuit board. This should make the card more suitable than the reference design.
