Asus launches Geforce GTX 760 ROG Striker

Without any new graphics processors in sight, manufacturers continue to create new products in existing model series. Asus is now launching a new member of the Republic of Gamers family, this time with the aim set at a lower price range.

The new graphics card is called Asus Geforce GTX 760 ROG Striker and is based just like other models in the 760 series on the graphics processor GK104. That means 1,152 CUDA cores, 256-bit memory bus and in this case 4 GB of GDDR5 memory. This is where the similarities with the reference design end.

First and foremost, Asus uses the latest variant of the cooler DirectCU II with two fans, one of which with the hybrid design Cooltech, and extra thick heat pipes of ten millimeters. This includes a metal plate on the back of the graphics card and an LED that indicates the load on the graphics processor by changing color.

The clock frequencies are increased up to 1,085 and 1,150 MHz at base respective boost, which can be compared with the reference design 980 and 1,033 MHz, respectively. The customized circuit board contains 8-phase power supply according to Asus Digi + VRM and is connected to 6 + 8-pin PCI Express.

The Geforce GTX 760 ROG Striker will be available at Swedish dealers in mid-May at a recommended approximate price of SEK 2,700 including VAT.
