Asus prepares Radeon HD 7970 with DirectCU II

AMD Radeon HD 7970 is the current king of graphics cards with a single graphics processor and the partner manufacturers are working hard to bring special models to market. From Asus comes, among other things, the Radeon HD 7970 DirectCU II Top with the sight set on the overclocker.

The model has a specially designed circuit board with power supply in 12 phases, the Digi + technology and the possibility of voltage adjustments at the hardware level. For cooling, Asus’ well-known DirectCU II has dual 100 mm fans and up to 20 percent lower temperatures compared to the reference variant.

The Asus DirectCU II Top has 2,048 1,000 MHz stream processors and 3 GB of 5,600 MHz GDDR5 memory on a 384-bit memory bus. The model offers four full-size Displayports together with dual DVI, which provides the ability to connect six screens in Eyefinity with up to 1,920 x 1080 pixels per screen.

Asus HD 7970 DirectCU II Top hits stores in mid-February. The price tag is estimated to land around approximately SEK 5,500 including VAT.
