Asus releases frightened Geforce GTX 970 DirectCU II OC Black

Nvidia’s latest graphics cards in the Geforce GTX 900 series are real bestsellers. However, it is not the flagship in the series that attracts the most attention, but the scaled-down Geforce GTX 970, which provides significantly more performance per crown. Asus takes the opportunity to ride the scales and is now releasing an extra lavish model in the ever-growing DirectCU II family.

The new Geforce GTX 970 DirectCU II OC Black adds a couple of upgrades compared to the existing Strix DirectCU II OC. First and foremost, you can see an inflated radiator with five heat pipes, up from three in the older version. In addition, the Cooltech hybrid fan is added, which is said to give a higher air pressure in relation to the sound level.

To justify the name, the GM204 graphics processor with 1,664 computing devices and 4 GB of memory on a 256-bit memory bus is used. Asus raises the clock frequencies to 1,114 and 1,253 MHz at base respective boost while the memory frequency is left unchanged at 7.0 GHz GDDR5.

More features are upgraded 10-phase power supply with connection to 6 + 8-pin PCI Express, aluminum back plate and video connections for DVI, HDMI 2.0 and three Displayports. These can be used in different combinations for up to four screens simultaneously.

The Asus Geforce GTX 970 DirectCU II OC Black will appear on store shelves within the next few weeks at the recommended price of SEK 3,690 including VAT.
