Asus shows ROG Matrix Geforce RTX 2080 Ti – bjässe with integrated water cooling

It is common today for graphics card manufacturers to release several variants of the same model, which differ through different coolers and variations in clock frequencies. Among other things, Asus does this and offers everything from simple graphics cards to lavish ones with associated coolers adapted for overclocking.

One such is the ROG Matrix, a series that was previously used for, among other things, the Geforce GTX 980 and during CES 2019 it will be reintroduced for Nvidia’s latest RTX 2000 series. This is the ROG Matrix Geforce RTX 2080 Ti, which, like previous models in the same series, is distinguished by a lavish cooling solution.

The model comes with integrated water cooling, which works completely without the need for hoses or connection to a self-built cooling system. Asus calls the solution Infinity Loop and it consists of a radiator that sits under the cover together with a specially made radiator block that covers both graphics and memory circuits.

According to Asus, the radiator should perform better than a similar hybrid solution with a 120 mm radiator and equivalent to a 240 mm radiator solution. Details regarding sound level and temperatures are not mentioned, however.

The Asus ROG Matrix Geforce RTX 2080 Ti is based on the same circuit board used for the company’s ROG Strix models and thus also comes with slightly increased frequencies. The base frequency is the same, while the GPU Boost goes up to 1,815 MHz compared to 1,635 MHz for Nvidia’s Founders Edition model.

For power supply, two 8-pin PCI Express are used and in terms of picture connections, the model is equipped with two HDMIs, two Displayports and a USB Type-C with Virtuallink. Asus ROG Matrix Geforce RTX 2080 Ti does not yet have a launch date or price, but the latter is expected to be of the higher kind.
