Autopilot developer Veoneer enlists support from Qualcomm

As reported Reuters, the Swedish company Veoneer and the American corporation Qualcomm announced a collaboration in the development of hardware and software components for the platform for autopilot and advanced systems for active driver assistance.

Veoneer is already developing cameras and radars, and announced the creation of a division of Arriver, which will develop software solutions for related systems. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Veoneer, the company will meet Qualcomm’s corporate information processing standards, making it easier to work with the US side.

The Arriver software is already running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride hardware platform, which Venoeer customers will have access to in the coming months. Interested automakers and component suppliers have already highly appreciated the capabilities of the platform presented, the source notes.
