Gigabyte unveils giant GeForce RTX 3090 AORUS MASTER graphics card

The Taiwanese company Gigabyte has expanded its range of graphics adapters with a new revision of the GeForce RTX 3090 AORUS MASTER video card. The original model features a huge air cooling system that requires four free slots. The new product has a third power connector.

GeForce RTX 3090 AORUS MASTER is based on the GA102 chip, made according to the norms of 8-nanometer technology. The GPU has 10,496 CUDA cores. The arsenal of the model has 24 GB of video memory of the GDDR6X type. The maximum GPU frequency is 1785 MHz.

Considering the size of the cooling system, it can be assumed that the video card has significant overclocking potential, but it is limited by the lack of power. That is why a third 8-pin connector was added in the new revision. In addition, the manufacturer recommends using power supplies with a capacity of at least 850 watts. For comparison, Gigabyte recommends 750-watt PSUs for the original model.

The overall dimensions of the new version of the GeForce RTX 3090 AORUS MASTER have not changed, amounting to 319 x 140 x 70 mm. The manufacturer does not specify the weight of the graphics accelerator. The set of interfaces has been preserved – three DisplayPort connectors, two HDMI 2.1 and one HDMI 2.0.

The cooling system is represented by a large radiator and three Wind Claw coolers. The side fans are 115 mm and the central one is 100 mm. The latter is distinguished by the fact that it rotates in the opposite direction relative to the two lateral ones, which should provide a more efficient air flow.

A large copper pad is used for the heatsink, which makes it possible to effectively remove heat from the video memory and graphics chip. It is connected to an evaporation chamber, to which, in turn, five more heat-conducting pipes are connected.

The cover of the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3090 AORUS MASTER is executed in black. It has a matte finish with glossy black and silver accents. An RGB backlight is integrated into the casing of the cooling system, and an LCD screen is installed on the side panel of the accelerator to display information about the state of the card. The display can also show text, animations, and images.

The price of the GeForce RTX 3090 AORUS MASTER has not yet been specified. Gigabyte has also decided not to disclose the date of the start of sales of the new graphics accelerator.
