The end of the year brings to the fore a gesture of supremacy from YouTube and Google. The video content of the crypto creators was deleted from an “error” and the Ethereum MetaMask wallet was suspended from the Google Play Store.
On December 23, YouTube deleted content about cryptocurrencies posted by users. The old but also the newly established channels were affected. The giant said it was an error, motivating:
“With the massive volume of videos on our site, we sometimes make the wrong decisions. When we are alerted that a video has been deleted incorrectly, we act quickly to republish it. We also give users the opportunity to call for deletions and we will review the content. ”
On December 26, the MetaMask team announced that the popular Ethereum wallet was suspended from the Google Play Store on the grounds that it “exposes users to misleading and harmful financial products and services.”
Censorship of crypto content
This is not the first time giants are hostile to the crypto ecosystem. In 2018, both Google and Facebook banned ads with and about cryptocurrencies. Subsequently the ban was canceled by the launch of the Libra project.
Also in the same period, the Bing search engine from Microsoft and Twitter decided to follow the example of the older brothers.
We don’t need them!
This is what centralization looks like. One day the work of a life in which effort, time and resources can be thrown into the trash for an unfounded reason.

These events look nothing more than the maturation of the ecosystem. They were not the first and definitely not the last. We are looking forward to a 2020 through events and it is very important to be open to learning. Technology is growing at an alarming rate and it is essential to keep up with it.
