Dealers show Radeon RX 480 in Crossfire

These are sweet times for all hardware lovers. Nvidia has rolled out both the Geforce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 in the Pascal generation, while AMD is charging for the launch of the Radeon RX 480 – the first graphics card in the Polaris family.

The model was officially presented during Computex 2016. Since then, various leaks and additional information have both shown the card without a cooler and delivered the first indications around Swedish price levels.

Now comes further leaked information for all thirsty enthusiasts. A video captured by Videocardz demonstrates what is said to be a dual Radeon RX 480 in Crossfire by a Thai dealer. Data is displayed partly in GPU-Z, partly as a performance result from 3DMark Fire Strike. Last but not least, the new overclocking device Radeon Wattman is glimpsed.

The configuration gives approximately 23,000 graphics points in 3DMark Fire Strike in standard mode, which can be compared to approximately 21,500 points for the Geforce GTX 1080 in SweClocker’s test suite. If the numbers are correct, they are well in line with previous information that a dual Radeon RX 480 can challenge Nvidia’s new flagship.

The AMD Radeon RX 480 will be launched on June 29 and comes in two different reference versions. The difference lies in the amount of graphics memory, where one variant has 4 GB GDDR5 for 199 dollars and the other 8 GB GDDR5 for the target price 229 dollars. This corresponds to approximately SEK 2,150 and SEK 2,350, including VAT
