Europe predicted difficult winters
MOSCOW, 14 Sep — PRIME. Difficult winters await Europe, and it will not be possible to solve the problem of the energy crisis quickly, said Frans Timmermans, Executive Vice President of the European Commission (EC).
The expert assessed the likelihood of easing European sanctions due to cold weather
“Prices remain high and there is no quick fix. Next winters, not just this one, will be tough,” he said.
Earlier, the EC published recommendations to overcome the energy crisis. Thus, the agency proposes to reduce the demand for electricity during peak hours by at least 5% and withdraw excess profits from energy companies. At the same time, there is no talk of limiting prices for Russian gas in the release.
