MOSCOW, Sep 1 — PRIME. Former Moldovan President Igor Dodon accused the current head of state Maia Sandu and the government of failing to solve the energy crisis.
Moldova is experiencing an energy crisis due to rising energy prices. Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu announced the intention of the authorities to reduce gas consumption in winter by at least 15%. The government has developed and submitted for discussion a plan that includes turning off street lighting, lowering the central heating temperature, transferring schoolchildren and students to distance learning.
According to Dodon, the gas price in Moldova has reached $1,882.78 per thousand cubic meters since September 1, while the authorities are not taking any action.
“Maybe Maia Sandu and her ministers should go to learn from the experience of negotiations on gas supplies to Serbia and Hungary, which will receive it this winter for $350-400? with Gazprom, step aside and let others save the people of Moldova from cold and hunger!” — wrote the former Moldovan leader in the Telegram messenger.
