eSkootr, the first international championship of electric scooters

The first ever international electric scooter championship is set to take place in 2022. Just in time, because these have been with us for several years and although the races on them are the last, which we would think of with our European limit of 25 km / h, the official league will do its job and probably at least indirectly lead to improvements in the current models on the market .

The eSkootr championship will not, however, include traditional electric scooters available for purchase, but racing ones that will be able to accelerate to speeds over 100 km / h. This explains why the visualizations show riders wearing racing suits instead of shorts and t-shirts, because an accident at such speed never ends well.

According to the plans, the eSkootr S1X racing scooters will be the eSkootr S1X models with aerodynamic frames. These will be joined by 6.5-inch aluminum wheels and a drive system with a maximum power of 12 kW, which draws energy from a battery with a capacity of 1.33 kWh. It’s a lot, but with such power you can count on a range of only 8-10 minutes.

The eSkootr S1X scooters will also be heavy, because their weight of 35 kilograms is almost twice as high as the models available on the market. Ultimately, the races with their participation will be quite short due to technological limitations. You can forget about long-distance tracks and many laps, and indeed the eSkootr race tracks come down to a distance of about 1 kilometer on average and according to plans they will receive about 30 participants at one time.
