Ethereum Classic successfully performed Atlantis hard fork

Atlantis hard fork was successfully activated on the Ethereum Classic blockchain, the main task of which is to increase interaction with the Ethereum network.

Ethereum Classic Labs developers report that the update includes 10 Improvement Suggestions (EIPs) that will improve stability, security and network performance, as well as support for opcodes, zk-SNARKs (zero-disclosure evidence), and pre-compiled contracts.

“We upgraded to Atlantis. Congratulate everyone! This update caused the most fierce debate in the community, but we have reached agreement. We understood a lot about the beauty of decentralization and a distributed community, ”said developers Afri Schoedon and Yaz Khoury.

Ethereum Classic Labs collaborated with the Chainsafe System and the ETC Cooperative, as well as other community members, to conduct the hard fork.

“This update is a signal that we want to be compatible with Ethereum. We would really like to find a way so that both networks are compatible with each other. We believe in the success of public blockchains, because they are built on the strength of the community, ”said Terry Culver, CEO of Ethereum Classic Lab.

It was previously assumed that Atlantis hard fork will be held on September 17 at block 8,772,000.
