EVGA is preparing BIOS update to fix graphics card heat issues

Last month, there were reports that Geforce GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 graphics cards from EVGA were pulled with heat problems. Shortly after this was discovered, EVGA confirmed that the allegations were true and promised to remedy this with a new update.

The manufacturer has now released a new BIOS version which they believe will fix this for all users. What this does is adjust the fan speed to make sure the card stays at a reasonable temperature. For those customers who do not want to update the card themselves for any reason, EVGA offers the opportunity to send in their current card and have it exchanged for an updated one.

The company points out that the heating problem only affected cards with their ACX 3.0 coolers and those who want additional cooling can apply for extra heating pads via EVGA’s website completely at no extra cost.

The new BIOS version will be available soon and EVGA also announces that all cards delivered after November 1 this year will come with this pre-installed.
