FAZ: German authorities plan to abolish gas fees

MOSCOW, 27 Sep — PRIME. The German government will cancel gas charges for consumers on Tuesday or Wednesday, and has also proposed a containment of gas prices, the German newspaper FAZ writes, citing sources among the parliamentary groups of parties that are part of the government coalition.

Germany fills its gas storage facilities by 91 percent

Earlier it was reported that in Germany, to support gas importers, they plan to levy the so-called gas levy from October 1 this year until 2024, the amount of which will be 2.4 euro cents per kilowatt-hour.

“Gas charges for consumers will be canceled today or tomorrow. As an alternative, it is proposed to introduce a containment of gas prices, but free Democrats put forward three conditions for this,” the newspaper notes.

According to the newspaper, the negotiations have entered a decisive phase.
