The core temperature after one hour of playing during the tests was only 63 degrees Celsius. Only the two Asus ROG Strix cards we tested had a lower core temperature, but were inferior to Aorus in performance. This card is also one of the quietest on the market, and when idle, it is completely inaudible, because it turns off the fans. And this card has RGB backlight that Ventus lacks. Of course, its biggest advantage, i.e. its small size, is also its biggest problem. Since such a small graphics card cannot have a very efficient cooling system, the KFA2 RTX 2060 White Mini is one of the less efficient cards with the TU106 core. In addition, the noise level it generates under full load is high compared to full-size graphics cards. However, considering that this is a design intended for mini-ITX computers with extremely small dimensions, this noise is acceptable and in our test it turned out that there are full-size graphics cards on the market that are louder than the KFA2 toddler. Therefore, we can recommend this card with a clear conscience to anyone who needs a structure of this nature.

Our tests on typical esports titles such as CS: GO show that the RTX 2060 offers an average performance of almost 300 frames per second, which will drive even the fastest gaming monitors with a screen refresh rate of 280 Hz. For AAA high-budget titles, such as Shadow of the Tomb Raider, at a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels, we can count on an average performance of 60-70 frames per second. However, in Battlefield V in Full HD resolution we get an average of over 90 frames per second.

What to look for when looking for the best GeForce RTX 2060?

There are a lot of RTX 2060s on the market, and the differences between them are very small at first glance. Each manufacturer gives the approximate performance of their cards, which of course is determined by the frequency of the graphics core. Usually, two frequencies are given: base, that is the minimum frequency with which the graphic system will work, and “boost”, which it shouldachieved while playing. However, both of these frequencies given by the manufacturers do not coincide with the real frequency of the graphics core in games, which can only be checked in practice. Why? Because it is different for each copy of a given card model

. This is mainly due to the quality of the core itself – sometimes you will get a core with excellent parameters, which will keep a very high frequency in games, and sometimes weaker, in which the real clock speed of the core will be slightly higher than the “boost” value declared by the manufacturer. This frequency also depends on the operating temperature of the graphics card, which in turn also depends on the buyer’s computer housing, which is beyond the control of the graphics card manufacturer. This is whythe performance of the RTX 2060s must be tested in practice and you cannot rely only on the data provided by the manufacturer .

In our opinion, the second most important feature of a modern graphics card is its good cooling system . It is thanks to him that the graphics card will have the right operating temperature, which directly affects its performance (in the case of Nvidi cards, the lower the core temperature, the faster its clocking) and at the same time it will not be annoyingly loud. Therefore , we only recommend graphics cards with at least two fans . If someone cares about silence, we also recommend looking for graphics cards that offer a semi-passive cooling system. This means that the graphics card fans do not spin until the core reaches a given temperature.

What about overclocking the RTX 2060?

Graphics card overclocking has been greatly simplified. Nvidia has developed an overclocking algorithm for its graphics cards called OC Scanner. This feature is already available in almost every software that comes with your graphics card, but in our opinion the best of them in years is MSI Afterburner , which is reliable and always produces very good results. What performance gain can we count on after overclocking the graphics card? In the case of RTX 2060s, which in most cases are factory overclocked anyway, smaller than expected, around 3 to 8 percent. The models listed above are, in our opinion, the best RTX 2060s available on the market. Of the 28 different RTX 2060 models we have tested, there are a few more that deserve a mention and an explanation of why they did not receive our recommendation.

• Palit GeForce RTX 2060 Storm X – this is one of the cheapest RTX 2060s and performs adequately for the price. Its performance is at the bottom of our table, and the work culture is at a poor level – the card is simply loud and the graphics core reaches temperatures higher than the competition.

• Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Gaming OC Pro – a very efficient card, but inferior to Aorus’s performance. The work culture is high, the cooling system is semi-passive, but quite loud under stress. Combined with the high price, all this makes it better to just buy an Aorus.

• MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Gaming Z – this card has satisfactory performance – slightly higher than recommended by MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Ventus OC, but clearly lower than Aorus. The fan work culture is also at a high level, but the biggest problem is the high price, which makes it better to either save by buying the MSI Ventus model, or to buy a better Aorus in all respects.
• EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 XC – decent performance, but the unconventional solution of the cooling system (the card takes up three slots in the housing) means that it will not fit in every housing. In addition, the card, although very large, is relatively loud when played, which is why we cannot recommend it.
• Zotac GeForce RTX 2060 Gaming AMP – after the top Zotac graphics card we expected better performance and work culture – it does not look bad, but the quality of this card is disproportionate to its very high price.
• Asus GeForce RTX 2060 Turbo 6G – the only graphics card in the test with a “blower” cooling system (i.e. with a turbine pushing warm air out of the housing). Unfortunately, it did not fare well, because although it guarantees a decent working temperature, it comes at a price with high volume.
