MOSCOW, 8 Sep — PRIME. Germany has shot itself in both legs by imposing sanctions on Russia, said Alisa Weidel, co-chair of the right-wing opposition Alternative for Germany party.
Experts sharply cut Germany’s GDP forecast for 2023
According to her, “Gazprom” and Moscow only earn against the backdrop of rising energy prices and reduced supplies of oil and gas.
Thus, Russia benefits from sanctions, Weidel believes. She added that German Economy Minister Robert Habeck, like the entire German government, was “in a panic.”
“Why? Yes, because the gas valve is closed. Because of our dependence on Russian gas, we have absolutely no other option. Thus, we lose the most in this situation, with these sanctions we got shot in both legs,” Weidel summed up .
