Graphics card manufacturers flag for continued shortage of graphics processors

Anyone who is looking for a new graphics card has probably noticed that the range is not really what it should be. Many models are back-listed with unconfirmed delivery times, despite the fact that some time has passed since the launches.

To SweClockers, several Taiwanese graphics card manufacturers state that they expect a continued shortage of graphics processors. Particularly hard hit is Nvidia, which, unlike AMD, has not had time to build up any stocks. The situation is exacerbated by high demand for the Geforce GTX 680, while more variants based on the GK104 are approaching.

The shortage seems to persist for the rest of the month and even a bit into June. In the worst case, the drought can continue even during the summer months, which also risks affecting the important start of school, as students upgrade before the upcoming autumn term.
