Wilshire-Phoenix publishes views on rejecting Bitcoin ETF. On February 26, the SEC rejected the Wilshire-Phoenix Bitcoin ETF proposal. This is the tenth application on this subject rejected by the US supervisory authority.

Wilshire-Phoenix expressed disappointment over the SEC’s decision, reiterating some of the comments made by Commissioner Hester Peirce.

They believe that the SEC did not pay full attention to the ETF, as Wilshire-Phoenix offered to provide key data and additional information to help facilitate ETF listing.

Both institutional and retail investors believe that an ETF is essential for mass adoption of Bitcoin. Wilshire-Phoenix claims that US financial markets desperately need an ETF or ETP to keep up with Europeans, which have already listed more such investment vehicles.

Another SEC Commissioner, Robert Jackson Jr., said that a Bitcoin ETF is inevitable, but it must meet the agency’s framework and guidelines. Wilshire-Phoenix believes they have complied with SEC guidelines and yet their proposal has been rejected.
