How to reset password in Minecraft

Minecraft comes in two versions; the Java version and the Bedrock version. The base version is available through the Microsoft Store on Windows 10. You do not need to log in to use this version and, when you log in, your Microsoft account. With the Java version, you must use your Minecraft account.

Minecraft and Mojang account

Minecraft Java has always required an account. Before Microsoft acquired Minecraft, users created a Minecraft account. These accounts had to be transferred to a Mojang account after Microsoft acquired them. Starting December 1, 2020, you need a Microsoft account to purchase and play Minecraft. This means you can have a Mojang account if you bought Minecraft Java a long time ago, or you can have a Microsoft account if you bought the game after December 1, 2021.

Reset Mojang account password

Resetting your Mojang account password is easy as long as you have access to the email you used to have. sign up.

  1. Visit the Mojang password reset page.
  2. Enter the email you used to sign up for the account and click Request password reset.
  3. Open the email and click the reset link.
  4. Create a new password and then use it to log into Minecraft.

Reset Microsoft account password

Resetting your Microsoft account password is as easy as resetting your Mojang account password.

  1. Visit the Microsoft account page.
  2. Click the Login button.
  3. Enter your email / Microsoft account.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In the password field, click Forgot your password?
  6. Select an option to recover the password; Authentication app (if configured), email or phone number.
  7. Enter the code that was sent to you and then create a new password for your account.
  8. Once the password has been reset, you can use the account to log into Minecraft.

Note: Once you change or reset your Microsoft account password, you will need to use the new password in all Windows 10 applications and systems where you use it to sign in.
