How to Set, Change or Customize a Slide Background in PowerPoint

When doing slide work creating interactive presentations, changing or customizing the background is a great way to add visual interest. Backgrounds come in several styles: solid, gradient, image, texture, and pattern. Having at your disposal a variety of options for your benefit.

You can also right-click the area outside of a slide and select Format Background from the pop-up menu that opens. To quickly add a shape to a slide, make sure to have the home tab selected on the tape. Then under drawing selection choose your shape. Once you’ve selected it, draw it on the slide. Now you can set a custom color, put a gradient, or maybe use more than one.
If you are a fan of images, use one of them as a background. You will find all kinds of images on the Internet that are free or paid to use. And if you’re feeling more daring, you can use your own images. To add an image, go to the insert tab and then press Images. It really couldn’t be easier, if you want you can use the keyboard.
Design templates are the fancy backgrounds that you may have seen in other presentations. Generally, you want to use the same layout for all the slides in your presentation. Clicking on the Design Ribbon and moving the mouse over the different images in the Theme Group, you will see what that design would look like on your slides.
Once you’ve chosen an overall look from the theme group, you can further customize it using the use of font schemes o built-in colors (color and font icons are next to theme images). You just have to use your imagination or see some references on the web.
In the PowerPoint program, you can access background colors, fonts, effects, and styles pressing the More button in the Variant group on the design ribbon. Now you can create, customize or change the background of any slide and make impressive presentations that will leave everyone surprised by your professionalism.
