You can also right-click the area outside of a slide and select Format Background from the pop-up menu that opens. For change all slides (including those that have not yet been created), click the Apply to all button. To hide the default graphic, check the box that says Hide Background Graphics in the Format Background dialog box or on the Design Ribbon.
