Huobi Joins Klaytn's Governance Council

Klaytn, the blockchain organization created by the South Korean giant Kakao, announced that the cryptocurrency platform Huobi had joined his governance council.

Chinese press release said Huobi is now part of Klaytn Governance Council. Launched in summer 2019 by Ground X, the crypto-subsidiary of Kakao, Klaytn is a platform for blockchain public.

Huobi thus joins around thirty large companies and financial institutions, such as LG Electronics, Woori Financial Group or Union Bank of the Philippines, and will now participate in the decision-making and the technical calendar of Klaytn, in particular for the management of its network of nodes.

We are delighted that Huobi works with other board members to jointly manage and govern the platform Klaytn, as well as to create use cases that can support the development of the global ecosystem blockchain, ”Commented Sangmin Seo, director of Ground X.

Founded in China in 2013, Huobi has today established itself as one of the most widely used cryptocurrency exchange platforms around the planet. Last month, the Chinese group launched Huobi Brokerage, a crypto-trading service dedicated to institutional investors.

We look forward to working closely with other members of the Council to accelerate the growth of the entire ecosystem of the blockchain, ”Added Ciara Sun, vice president of global affairs at Huobi.

In December, Kakao announced that it would postpone the release of its crypto-wallet Klip – dedicated to his digital piece Klay – in the first half of 2020.
