IAEA mission arrived at Zaporozhye NPP

ENERGODAR, 1 sen — PRIME. The IAEA mission on UN armored vehicles arrived at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in Energodar, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

In total, there are nine cars with the UN inscription and several units of escort vehicles in the convoy. The situation at the station is currently calm. There are no sounds of firing.

On Monday, the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, said that the organization’s mission is heading to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and will arrive at the site this week. Mikhail Ulyanov, permanent representative of the Russian Federation to international organizations in Vienna, reported to RIA Novosti that the mission includes about a dozen employees of the IAEA secretariat who deal with issues of safeguards and nuclear safety. They are accompanied by a large team of UN staff dealing with logistics and security issues.

At the same time, Kyiv troops are shelling Energodar. Over the past 24 hours, the city has been subjected to more than 60 Ukrainian UAV and artillery strikes. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the situation in the area of ​​​​the nuclear power plant is difficult, but remains under complete control. Despite the attempts of the Kyiv regime to disrupt the arrival of a group of IAEA experts at the nuclear power plant, the Russian side confirms its readiness to accept them with full safety for further work, the department noted.
