BERLIN, 28 Aug – PRIME. Negotiations with foreign partners have not yet helped Germany find a replacement for Russian gas, said Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder.

“With regard to energy, we are now transferring more money to Russia than before. At the same time, there remains a risk that there will be problems, prices soar, there is no replacement,” Soeder said on the air of the German ZDF channel.
The Prime Minister added that Germany still faces the challenge of finding an alternative to Russian gas. “Visits that were made before – to Qatar, Norway, Canada – did not help find a replacement,” Söder said.
After the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, Western countries began to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation, in particular, on Russian energy resources. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy for the West, and sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy.
