MOSCOW, Sep 27 – PRIME. The Maritime Administration of Sweden confirms two gas leaks in the Nord Stream, but it has information about their causes, RIA Novosti was told in the department.
Nord Stream AG announced serious damage to the Nord Stream system
“Our task is to ensure the safety of shipping. We do this by warning ships that come too close to leaks,” said a spokesman for the department.
As specified, all ships were advised to bypass the gas leak area at a distance of five nautical miles (about nine kilometers) from the accident site.
On Monday, Nord Stream 2 AG reported a sharp drop in pressure on the Nord Stream 2 line filled with technical gas. After that, a decrease in pressure was recorded on both threads of the Nord Stream pipeline. The Danish Maritime Authority has issued a warning to ships about a gas leak near the island of Bornholm. In connection with the incident, an investigation began.
According to the German newspaper Tagesspiegel, targeted sabotage could have been the cause of the incidents.
