The Russians faced problems when updating computers

MOSCOW, Sep 27 – PRIME. Microsoft has limited the ability for Russian users to upgrade computers to the latest version of the operating system – Windows 11, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

On the official website of the company, when you click on the link to download the latest version of Windows, an empty window opens, and the section with the installation of the updated version of the operating system is not available, the correspondent was convinced.

Russian users cannot download the new operating systems Windows 10 and Windows 11 since June 19. In July, the media reported that the number of requests to install pirated Windows operating systems in Google increased by 80-120%.

On March 4, Microsoft Corporation announced that it was leaving the Russian market, in particular, it was suspending the sale of goods and the provision of services in Russia due to the events in Ukraine. Three months later, Bloomberg published a message from Microsoft, in which the corporation announced the reduction of its activities in the Russian Federation and 400 Russian employees of the organization. However, Microsoft also emphasized that it will continue to fulfill existing obligations to customers in Russia.
