Intel Core i3 10th gen, first benchmarks compared with the Ryzen 3 3000

The Core i3 line, in detail the models Core i3-10300 and Core i3-10100, they will not have an easy life and will be confronted with the Ryzen 3 3000 announced by AMD just last week. The CPU Monkey database reports the results of the new Intel processors in the Cinebench 20 benchmark, tests related to single and multi-thread performance, compared precisely to those of the latest Ryzen 3 3000 series.

Taking into account that these are pre-launch tests, the following table reported by 3dcenter can give us an indication of what we can expect from these CPUs, very boosted in Boost frequency above 4 GHz.

According to what emerges from the table, the Core i3-10100 is slightly ahead of a Ryzen 3 3100, certainly helped by higher clock frequencies (3.6 / 4.3 GHz vs 3.6 / 3.9 GHz). The Core i3-10300 instead it lags behind in the single core compared to Ryzen 3 3300Xinstead recovering in the multi-thread test. Given the frequencies of the two models, we can say that the two processors in this case offer similar performance, but the discussion at this point shifts to the price.

According to current information available, Intel Core i3-10300 is expected to cost at least $ 150 ($ 149 based on this price list) while AMD last week announced Ryzen 3 3300X for $ 120. There is still nothing official and the situation could change from here to the actual availability of the platforms. We just have to wait for the official, the first tests and field tests to understand which is the best solution in real use and not only in synthetic tests.
