Intel Core i5-3470 Processor: Performance and test results
To study the overclocking potential of the Intel Core i5-3470, we used the ECS Z77H2-A2X (V1.0) motherboard, which did not allow enough to play with multiplier and bus BCLK. However, there was an automatic overclocking option in the BIOS settings.
After its activation, the maximum coefficient was indeed increased to 40 points (but only for one core). In practice, the CPU frequency did not rise above 3800 MHz (for example, in the S&M test). At the same time, the ECS Z77H2-A2X (V1.0) board added an additional 0.2 V to the nominal voltage.
Note that at 3800 MHz the Core i5-3470 passed the SuperPI 1M test in 9.376 s (like the non-overclocked Intel Core i7-3820), and in the WinRAR benchmark the final result grew to 4753 KB/s (compare the figure with the nominal value).
We recommend taking a closer look at the Intel Core i5-3470 to users who are in no hurry to get rid of the platform based on Socket LGA 1155. And also to those who do not have enough money to buy a Core i5-3570K with an unlocked multiplier.
