Israel affirms its ambitions in blockchain trading

The Israeli securities regulator,ISA, advocates the development of a blockchain platform trading securities. The goal for Israel is how to innovate on the capital market.

The Israel Securities Authority (ISA) once again argues for technological innovations based on technologies blockchain in the world of finances. The country's securities regulator is set to announce its ambitions at its annual CapiTech conference on January 20.

According to a preliminary report, revealed before this meeting of investors and actors of finance, the ISA roadmap was drafted following the work of a committee formed to promote and institutionalize the digital markets in Israel.

Identify the risks to remove the obstacles to adoption

The committee has focused its work on digital platforms for offering, trading and clearing securities using DLT technology, ”a finance expert on the task force told Globes.

On the basis of the report drawn up by these experts, the regulator plans to call on companies in the sector to submit offers aimed at creating a digital securities trading platform. This project will be accompanied by a reflection on regulatory issues likely to slow down the adoption of technologies.

These developments are expected to help improve the potential of the Israeli capital market. And private blockchain and finance companies are therefore encouraged to participate in the creation of a platform.

TheISA plans to adopt a "neutral approach". The task force set up by the regulator indeed recommends this approach, since "the technology meets the required standards, and that its use does not contravene regulatory objectives", including money laundering.

A year earlier, the body responsible for securities regulation in Israel, argued for the creation of a highly regulated digital token trading platform.
