KHERSON, 25 Sep – PRIME. The Kherson region is fully provided with Russian gas five times cheaper than Ukrainian, the head of the administration of the Kherson region Volodymyr Saldo told reporters on Sunday.
“Everything related to preparations for the autumn-winter period is being carried out as usual. The amount of gas that we need for the entire region to ensure the operation of both boiler houses and the household sector, we will now receive from Russia, because, as no matter how hard the Ukrainian authorities tried… to disable the possibility of receiving gas from Ukraine, but we don’t need their gas, we now have our own Russian gas, the volumes are sufficient for all enterprises to work and the same thing… there will be gas, and most importantly, this gas will be five times cheaper than the Ukrainian one,” Saldo said.
The Kherson region began to receive gas supplies from the Crimea and became completely independent of gas coming from the territory of Ukraine.
Today, the supply of gas to the Kherson region from the territory controlled by the Kyiv regime, from Nikolaev, has been completely stopped, gas to the Kherson region comes from the territory of Russia, from the Crimean peninsula.
The valve of the gas pipeline, through which gas was supplied from the Ukrainian-controlled territory of the Mykolaiv region, is completely closed to prevent the reverse flow of gas under pressure to the territories controlled by Ukraine.
In 2014, the Ukrainian authorities cut off gas supplies to the Kherson region from Crimea, and until today, the Kherson region received gas supplies from Nikolaev. Recently, insufficient gas has been supplied, the pressure in the pipe has dropped due to the actions of the Ukrainian authorities. After the liberation of the Kherson region, it was decided to resume supplies from Russia, from the Crimea.
