Leno IdeaPad C340 notebook from AMD Ryzen – One of the largest manufacturers of technology and notebooks, the Asian Lenovo, has been in this line for quite some time now to generate products for all niches, pockets and requirements, and the Leno IdeaPad C340 notebook from AMD Ryzen.
For many years since the Yoga brand launched in late 2012, Lenovo took its convertible notebook offerings very seriously, probably more seriously than any other PC maker. Now, however, the Chinese electronics company has decided that its customers are not confused enough about its brands. So you’re changing the names. As a result, their newest Yoga, the Yoga S940, is not a convertible. But its newer IdeaPad, the IdeaPad C340, yes.
For work in offices or educational environments, this equipment is accompanied by 3 USB C inputs and an HDMI, which is ideally complemented by a projector or an external screen without problems.
If the user wants to feel accompanied while working, there are two discreet speakers that allow listening to music without problems, without the feeling that it is AM audio, which is appreciated, as much or more than one battery that allows you to accompany you for more than seven hours, recharging in just minutes.

The 14-inch touchscreen works with a native resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels. At just 273.1 nits and 713: 1, respectively, its maximum brightness and contrast ratio is comparatively poor.We expect a display to have at least 300 nits as well as a 1,000: 1 contrast ratio to be considered a good display. That said, none of the Flex 14 competitors in our test group accomplished that.
Unfortunately, we found PWM at a very low frequency of only 208 Hz with brightness levels of 90% and below. This low frequency could cause headaches and eye pain in more sensitive users.
The equipment has an IPS panel with wide viewing angles. Consequently, it can be read from all sides, regardless of the angle. Outdoors, the display was barely usable due to the fatal combination of its reflective coating, poor maximum brightness, and low contrast ratio.
performance
The daily performance of the review unit was quite good. I was able to multitask across numerous apps like Word, Excel, Chrome, File Explorer, Steam, and WhatsApp for PC on multiple desktops without facing any noticeable signs of stuttering. With that said, I did notice occasional delays (lasting about a second) in pointer movement and window change, but I’ll attribute this to a possible driver error.
The game was a tense affair in the review unit. Doom ran in Full HD medium graphics settings at an average frame rate of 30 frames per second. Metro: Last Light, on the other hand, managed approximately 20 frames per second. In both games, there was a visible delay from time to time. After all, the IdeaPad C340 shows good performance with some room for improvement in the games and graphics department.
The system felt very fast and agile thanks to its combination of Ryzen APU, NVMe SSD, and dual-channel RAM. We did not encounter any issues during our review period. The laptop is more than fast enough for office and internet applications, and it performed very well in our PCMark benchmarks.
At the beginning of the test, the CPU ran at a speed of up to 2.3-2.4 GHz, which quickly dropped to just 1.7 GHz. The GPU ran at 300-400 MHz. Oddly enough, at a constant speed of 2.3-2.4 GHz for the CPU and 600 to 800 MHz for the GPU, the clock speeds were actually higher on the battery than on the power grid. Please note that our stress test is an extreme load scenario that rarely occurs during daily use. We use this test to determine whether or not a laptop is stable at maximum load.
The team remained fairly cool overall. The maximum temperature determined during our stress test was slightly above 40 ° C at the bottom of the device. It remained much cooler during normal use.
Our real-life Wi-Fi test simulates a typical loading scenario for surfing the web. The power profile is set to Balance, all power-saving features are disabled, and the screen brightness is set to 150 nits. With this setup, the IdeaPad C340 lasted 7:28 hours.
Final Words
Without aspiring to the big leagues, and being a hybrid, it seems to us that it succeeds as an alternative proposal for a notebook and tablet at the same time, very well built, with the limitations of its hardware offer.
