Media: experts from the US and UK were not included in the IAEA mission

MOSCOW, 29 Aug – PRIME. American and British experts were not included in the IAEA mission sent to the Zaporozhye NPP, the New York Times writes, citing the mission list.

According to the newspaper, 13 experts from “mainly neutral countries” will visit the ZNPP. It is noted that the mission did not include specialists from the US and the UK, whom Russia accuses of being unfairly biased because of sympathies for Ukraine.

Earlier, Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, said that the IAEA mission headed by the agency’s director general Rafael Grossi was on its way to the ZNPP.

Zaporozhye NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper near Energodar. This is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of units and installed capacity. It has been guarded by the Russian military since March to prevent leaks of nuclear and radioactive materials. The Ukrainian military continues to regularly shell Energodar, the surrounding villages and the territory of the ZNPP adjacent to the city.
