Gazprom reported problems with the repair of the unit for Nord Stream
MOSCOW, 3 Sep — PRIME. The German company Siemens is ready to fix malfunctions in equipment for Nord Stream, but there is no place to carry out repairs, Gazprom said.
“Siemens takes part in repair work in accordance with the current contract, detects malfunctions, signs an act on the detection of oil leaks, and is ready to fix them. Only there is nowhere to repair,” the Russian company’s telegram channel says.
Earlier, Gazprom stopped Nord Stream for an indefinite period after a three-day maintenance due to a malfunction of the only working turbine. Siemens said it “took note” of the reported malfunctions, but believes that Gazprom’s conclusion is not a technical reason for shutting down the gas pipeline.
Since June, fuel pumping through this line has been reduced due to difficulties in returning gas turbines from repair due to anti-Russian sanctions. First, supplies were reduced to 40% of the maximum capacity of the pipe, and then to 20%.
