MOSCOW, 19 Sep — PRIME. In Germany, buyers of Russian natural gas have started applying for supplies via the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline, Reuters reports.
German buyers of Russian natural gas have resumed filing bids for supplies via the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline for the first time since the key gas pipeline was closed for maintenance about three weeks ago, according to data from German gas pipelines.
The agency says the bids are simply requests for gas supplies, not indications that gas supplies have resumed. While they were visible on the websites of the German pipelines connecting Nord Stream 1 to end users, the website of the Nord Stream 1 operator itself showed no requests for deliveries as of Monday morning, Reuters points out.
Nord Stream did not come out of a three-day scheduled maintenance on September 3, as previously expected. “Gazprom” explained this by the identified malfunctions at the only working GPA CS “Portovaya”. The German Siemens said that it does not consider them a technical reason for stopping the gas pipeline. But after Gazprom announced that Siemens is participating in the repair work of the unit, it detects malfunctions and is ready to fix them, but because of the sanctions, there is nowhere to do this.
