Metal plant in Kryvyi Rih limited production, Ukrainian media reported

MOSCOW, 11 Oct — PRIME. Metallurgical company “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” has temporarily limited production volumes in order to reduce electricity consumption in the city of Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine, Uaprom.info reported.

ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih announced a decision to limit electricity consumption by the most energy-intensive equipment and temporarily reduce current production,” the company said in a release.

The publication noted that this decision will reduce electricity consumption in Krivoy Rog.

“ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” is the largest producer of rolled steel in Ukraine, specializes in the production of long products – rebar and wire rod. ArcelorMittal owns ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog, the largest mining and metallurgical plant, and a number of small companies.

Ukrainian media have been reporting new explosions since Tuesday morning, the day after the Russian Armed Forces launched a massive strike with precision-guided weapons on Ukrainian infrastructure. On Tuesday, explosions occurred, in particular, in Kyiv, Vinnitsa, Rivne, Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa, Nikolaev, Lvov regions, as well as Krivoy Rog, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporozhye. An air alert has been declared throughout Ukraine, media reports.
