VLADIVOSTOK, 7 Sep — PRIME. The head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, met with the Prime Minister of Mongolia and discussed the construction of the Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline to supply gas through the republic to China, Gazprom reported.
Gazprom will supply gas to China for rubles and yuan
“Alexey Miller and Prime Minister of Mongolia L. Oyuun-Erdene highly appreciated the pace of implementation of the Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline construction project,” the company’s Telegram channel said in a statement.
The project – after the successful completion of the feasibility study and the approval of its results – has moved into the practical stage: the design of the gas pipeline is underway.
In 2019, Gazprom and the government of Mongolia signed a memorandum of understanding on the gas pipeline, and in early 2022, a protocol was signed on the results of the review of a feasibility study (feasibility study) of a construction project and an agreement on design and survey work, as well as an activity plan for a joint working groups of the government of Mongolia and Gazprom for 2022-2024.
The meeting between Miller and the Prime Minister of Mongolia took place as part of the WEF-2022.
