MSI introduces Geforce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z - worsting card with OLED screen

Launches of new graphics cards from AMD and Nvidia mean a large number of new models on the market, and then not only with the companies’ own reference coolers. It also means a range of models from partner manufacturers, with everything from simple coolers to more lavish ones.

One model that falls into the lavish category is MSI’s Geforce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z, which is the company’s worsting card aimed at overclockers who want to get as high frequencies as possible. The graphics card is equipped with 19-phase VRM and three 8-pin PCI Express for power supply. Otherwise, not much is known about the card as MSI has not yet come out with any official specifications.

A distinctive detail, however, is the OLED panel on one side of the model. This is something that has previously appeared on, among other things, power supplies and is also used here to show information about such things as clock frequencies and current temperature.

MSI Geforce RTX 2060

In addition to the RTX 2080 Ti Lightning Z, MSI also shows two Geforce RTX 2060 with two different cooling solutions. One is called RTX 2060 Ventus and is an entry-level model, with a marginal overclocking and simpler cooling solution with two fans. It also has a price tag of 349 USD, which means that it matches Nvidia’s own reference model Founders Edition.

The other model shown is called RTX 2060 Gaming Z and is slightly more lavish. It comes with a smaller variant of the Twin Frozer cooler with semi-passive operation and overclocking from the factory. Exact clock frequencies are, however, currently unknown. The company is talking about a price tag around 400 USD, but it is likely that the model will be slightly more expensive than that.
