Naked Geforce GTX 1070 pictured

With the Geforce GTX 1080 in the rearview mirror, the focus for Nvidia is on the scaled-down GTX 1070. The official specifications reveal that the model shares the GP104 graphics processor with its big brother, but has fewer active CUDA cores and has to settle for slower GDDR5 memory.

The circuit board for the reference version Founder’s Edition is also slimmed down a bit. According to an image intercepted by Videocardz, this is a lost VRM phase, which gives the configuration 4 + 1. Nvidia has also moved around some components, while the GDDR5 modules are visibly larger compared to the GDDR5X variants of the GTX 1080.

The official launch of the Geforce GTX 1070 will take place on June 10. The reference model Founder’s Edition receives an estimated price tag of SEK 4,999 including VAT.
