Nord Stream will be stopped from the morning of August 31 until the morning of September 3

MOSCOW, August 30 – PRIME. Gazprom will suspend gas transportation through Nord Stream from 04:00 Moscow time on August 31 until 04:00 Moscow time on September 3, according to the data of the Russian company, published in accordance with the EU regulation on the integrity and transparency of the wholesale energy market (REMIT).

The Russian company previously reported that on August 31, Nord Stream would be suspended for three days due to scheduled maintenance of the only working gas compressor unit (GCU) at the Portovaya CS. At the same time, a set of routine maintenance in accordance with the current maintenance contract will be carried out jointly with Siemens specialists.

According to the Siemens technical documentation, every 1000 hours the GPU needs to be serviced. Upon completion of the work and the absence of technical malfunctions of the unit, gas transportation will be restored to the level of 33 million cubic meters per day, Gazprom specified.

Nord Stream, the main route for gas supplies from Russia to Europe, has been operating at only 20% of its nearly 170 million cubic meters of capacity per day since the end of July. The Russian side has repeatedly emphasized that the limitation of deliveries is due solely to sanctions, which caused problems with the maintenance and repair of Siemens gas pumping units. Now only one turbine provides the work of the highway.
