Hemvern Territorial Defense Soldiers will increase security and patrols at oil facilities in Rogaland, Westland and Møre og Romsdal from Monday, October 3rd.
It is noted that such a measure was taken at the request of the police, who fear “undesirable” incidents at important sites for Norway, and their number may increase.
“Securing and securing critical civilian and military infrastructure is one of the Hemvern’s primary missions, and our soldiers are well trained for such tasks,” the agency added.
The military of this unit has already been used in the country at the request of the police, when during the pandemic they helped the police in border control for a year and a half.
