Novak considered the decisions proposed by Novatek on gasification of Kamchatka important

MOSCOW, September 5 – PRIME. The solutions proposed by Novatek for the gasification of Kamchatka are important, they need to be supported by state financing of coastal infrastructure, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

Earlier, the head of Novatek, Leonid Mikhelson, announced the company’s readiness to build infrastructure for the gasification of Kamchatka. To supply gas to the region, the businessman requested an additional resource base with appropriate conditions for licensing, and also suggested that in the short term, consider supplying the resource to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky from Sakhalin-2.

“For the first time, Leonid Viktorovich (Mikhelson – ed.) said that he was ready to take over the financing of the regasification terminal and the construction of two shuttles. This is important because we were looking for ways to finance these projects. So far, the Ministry of Finance has not confirmed the costs for these purposes, although the Ministry of Energy made relevant applications. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that if it is possible to support, we have expenses that are of a federal nature, objects of federal property,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

According to him, the region has to allocate about four billion a year to provide funding for onshore, hydrotechnical and linear facilities. Novak pointed out that the required amount is approximately equal to subsidies for subsidies from the federal budget.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the project is economically payable.

Novak added that the government will work out the issue of the resource base for gasification of Kamchatka with Novatek and Gazprom.

“At the first stage, we will consider the proposal that was made on the use of gas from Sakhalin-2,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
