Nvidia and its partners introduce new 1440p monitors for eSports, with up to 360Hz

At CES 2022, NVIDIA and its partners introduced several monitors for all types of use, where they highlighted 1440p 360Hz monitors with technologies like G-SYNC and REFLEX Latency Analyzer.

With the global growth of esports, the demand for monitors has doubled every year. 1080p displays have dominated eSports for over a decade, as lower resolutions allow for higher frame rates (FPS) and faster refresh rates. With GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs these monitors can support 360 frames per second at 1440p.

A 27-inch 1440p monitor can improve orientation by up to 3% compared to traditional 24-inch 1080 displays when aiming at small targets. For competitive players, 3% is usually the difference between victory and defeat.

In addition, the 1440p 27 ”monitors achieve the same 360Hz refresh rate as the 1080p 25” screens, thanks to AUO’s IPS innovations such as Dual-Driver. These high refresh rates create the same smooth and responsive feel as a 25 ”1080p display, but in a larger, sharper form factor.

Another somewhat striking function is Dual-Format 25 ”, a mode that will allow us to use the 27 ″ 1440p panel as if it were a 25 ″ screen at 1080p. In this way it will allow us to use that lower resolution but in a 1: 1 ratio with the native screen pixels. This function can be useful for those who want to play on a smaller screen.
