Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070 Super finds out in the picture – new logo and chrome-colored housing

In September 2018, it was time for Nvidia to release the replacement for the long-distance driver Pascal. The new graphics architecture was named Turing and is based on a modernized 16-nanometer technology from TSMC called 12 nanometers. In addition to improved game performance, there is also hardware accelerated ray tracing and machine learning in the Geforce RTX 2000 series.

Three new graphics cards in Nvidia’s RTX 2000 series with the suffix “Super” are now approaching, intended to counter AMD’s upcoming graphics card family Navi based on the RDNA architecture. Close to the expected revelation, the Geforce RTX 2070 Super will now be pictured via Videocardz.

The graphics card is adorned with a cooler similar to Nvidia’s reference design for the Geforce RTX 2070, with the two axial fans blowing straight down on the heat sink. New, however, is a chrome-colored middle section and the designation “Super” engraved there. In terms of specifications, the RTX 2070 Super is expected to receive 256 extra CUDA cores compared to the original, which gives a total of 2,560 pieces.

This is then paired with a 256-bit memory bus with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory at 14,000 MHz, the same as for regular RTX 2070. However, the similarities end there, as RTX 2070 Super is based on the graphics circuit TU104 instead of TU106. This means that the RTX functions get a boost to 320 Tensor cores and 40 RT cores, compared to the original’s 288 and 36 pieces.

Finally, the number of texture units also goes from 144 to 160 pieces. It is worth mentioning that these are not confirmed specifications. However, Nvidia is expected to unveil the Geforce RTX Super as early as July 2, which means that the result may soon be available. Whether sales will start at the same time is still unknown.
