Nvidia is preparing two new Geforce with GK106

In mid-September, Nvidia will release another graphics card with the architecture Kepler. The upcoming Geforce GTX 660 is presented as the successor to the best-selling GTX 560 Ti and will thus be the first real mid-range in the 28-nanometer generation, but more models are in sight.

Now there is talk that Nvidia is preparing two more graphics cards with the graphics processor GK106. According to German 3DCenter and Chinese PCinlife, it could possibly be scaled-down Geforce GTX 655 and GTX 650 Ti with 768 and 576 CUDA cores, respectively.

This would mean that Nvidia not only plans to launch the Geforce GTX 660 in the price range around SEK 2,000, but is also about to place Kepler in the SEK 1,700 and SEK 1,400 classes, respectively. For those who are looking for a cheaper graphics card, it can thus be a good idea to persevere for a few more weeks.
