Nvidia releases driver for The Crew 2

Both Nvidia and AMD invest considerable resources in software, where companies’ graphics card drivers are often said to be comparable to entire operating systems in terms of complexity. Before the launch of new games, extra effort is often put into optimizing these for as optimal an experience as possible from the very beginning.

That’s why Nvidia is now releasing the brand new driver Geforce 398.36 for the upcoming racing game The Crew 2. The driver is what Nvidia calls Game Ready, which means that it contains the latest optimizations for the game title. In addition, a number of welcome bug fixes are added.

First out are actions against blue screens in Gears of War 4 and its Directx 12 mode, something that has affected graphics cards from the Pascal generation. Nvidia is also polishing up the HDR functionality, where content without HDR has been hit by a choppy image if the function has been switched on.

Finally, there are measures for G-Sync that caused uneven frame rates on the desktop after games were turned off, as well as a black screen solution at startup after installing drivers. As usual, the driver can be downloaded from Nvidia’s website, or in the company’s software Geforce Experience.

The Crew 2 launches on June 29 on the PC / Windows, Microsoft Xbox One and Sony Playstation 4 platforms.
