Radeon HD 7890 will be released on November 27

The Southern Islands family or the Radeon HD 7000 series was introduced at the turn of the year and since then, a dozen models have found their way into the market in almost all price ranges. Now it may be time for another variant.

Information circulating online claims that the Radeon HD 7890 is approaching. This time it’s about the Tahiti LE, basically the same graphics processor as seen in the 7900 series. In the usual order, defective circuits are reused and re-graded to reduced models for lower price ranges.

Radeon HD 7890 “Tahiti LE” will contain 1,536 stream processors, 256-bit memory bus and 2 GB of memory. The clock frequencies amount to 925 MHz GPU (975 MHz turbo) and 6.0 GHz GDDR5. The latter results in a bandwidth of 192 GB / s. In terms of price, the model is said to compete with the Geforce GTX 660 and at the same time be 15 percent faster.

Despite this, far from everyone is interested in the new graphics card. According to SweClocker’s sources, it is mainly AMD-exclusive manufacturers who will add the new graphics card to the range. This seems to be confirmed by Techpowerup, which reports that at least TUL Corporation with brands such as Powercolor, Club3D and VTX 3D are on the notes.

The launch is said to take place on November 27.
