Nvidia subsidizes Titan Z – but only for system builders

Since the launch of the Geforce GTX Titan Z, the model has been overshadowed, probably because the price tag of SEK 27,000 is far more than most people are willing to pay. It is between the thumb and forefinger double up compared to the Radeon R9 295X2, which in most cases also performs better.

The fact that the graphics card is not a sales success therefore comes as no surprise, but Nvidia does not give up but is now investing in pushing prices. According to information to SweClockers, system builders are offered significant discounts for them to use the Geforce GTX Titan Z in pre-built gaming computers.

The size of the discount can in some cases amount to as much as SEK 10,000 per graphics card. Despite this, the purchase price is higher than for the Radeon R9 295X2. The total price tag, on the other hand, drops sharply and helps to make ready-made systems with Titan Z more competitive alternatives.

Enthusiasts who build their own computers, however, must still be prepared to shell out SEK 27,000 for Nvidia’s latest flagship.
