Nvidia’s driver enhances professional use with Titan XP

In early April, Nvidia announced its flagship Titan XP. Four months later, this graphics card is still the most powerful in its category, with the company describing it as a card aimed at both game users and creators.

The latest driver opens the way to a professional work environment as Titan XP can now perform tasks more efficiently, previously optimally performed with Quadro cards. According to the company, the driver provides three times higher performance in applications such as the Autodesk Maya modeling program.

At SIGGRAPH in Los Angeles, Nvidia also talks about the work to provide maximum computing power to its customers through external graphics cards. In the near future, support for the function will be available from a wider group of laptops, where even the cards aimed at professional users will be able to be used for the purpose with the help of products from certified partners.

The driver can already be downloaded from the Nvidia website. External graphics cards from the Quadro series are expected to appear in September, with an as yet unknown price tag.
