PegaSys Ethereum now available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace

Developers can now access the tools needed to manage a large-scale Enterprise Ethereum network via the Microsoft Azure marketplace.

The Ethereum PegaSys Suite, which includes Hyperledger Besu, PegaSys Plus and PegaSys Orchestrate, will help developers implement multinode networks with blockchain explorer, monitoring and dashboards, was reported in the Ethereum ConsenSys development study published on Friday 8 May.

The debut of the PegaSys Suite on Azure

Under the name PegaSys is a group of engineers working on the ConsenSys protocol, which in turn is a company based in Brooklyn, New York, known for being an incubator for Ethereum projects. Despite firing dozens of workers in late April, the company is awaiting further network developments in the blockchain arena.

"We are excited to see the launch of Hyperledger Besu and PegaSys Plus on the Azure Marketplace," said Yorke E. Rhodes III, chief program manager at Microsoft's Blockchain Engineering, in a statement to CoinDesk.

"Continuing to improve the quality and business tools for networks and blockchain development is critical to meeting the needs of customers using Azure." As it is known, Azure is a set of cloud services that allows developers to create manage and distribute applications on a large global network.

The charm of Azure draws thousands of potential developers into the blockchain ecosystem by providing them with the development kits necessary to build the web 3.0 infrastructure, including cloud computing. Microsoft's Blockchain development kit for Ethereum will now also support Hyperledger Besu directly, said ConsenSys.

The functionality of Hyperledger Besu and PegaSys Plus

Hyperledger Besu is an open source Ethereum client written in the Java programming language. In 2019, another collaborative project on open source blockchain hosted by the Linux Foundation was donated to Hyperledger.

PegaSys Plus, the commercial subscription of Hyperledger Besu, offers additional features and support guarantees, while PegaSys Orchestrate is an Ethereum transaction orchestration system.

An orchestration system is designed to reduce the time and work involved in manual coding by better aligning one company's data and applications with others. In particular, PegaSys Orchestrate allows organizations to rely on any Ethereum network by providing functionality to manage transactions, smart contracts and private keys.

ConsenSys has partnered closely with Microsoft since the first Visual Studio plug-in for Solidity that the two software companies launched in early 2016. Both Microsoft and ConsenSys are founding members of the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA), a group of standards where finance and other industries explore private versions that use Ethereum technology.
